When to Replace Rotor Tips
Rotor tips should be replaced when:
- 95% of the Tungsten Insert is worn away at any point along its length.
- The tip is damaged by oversized feed or tramp steel.
Important: Always replace rotor tips in packaged sets of 3 (one per port) to maintain rotor balance. For consistent performance, match worn tips with stored replacements of similar wear.

Removal and Installation
Follow these steps for safe and efficient rotor tip replacement:
- Open the inspection door.
- Use a copper or rubber mallet to release the T/CWP.
- Remove taper bolts and T/CWP plate.
- Refit the tip bolt into the tip and use a hammer to break away any buildup.
- Remove the tip bolt and the worn rotor tip.
Choosing the Right Rotor Tips
Selecting the appropriate tip depends on your application:
- Feed Material: Consider rock type, size distribution, moisture, and clay content.
- Rotor Speed: Match the tip to the operating speed of your rotor.
- Foreign Particles: Evaluate the presence of nuts, bolts, or other tramp materials.
Tip Colors and Grades:
- Red Tips: Ideal starting option for many applications.
- Silver or White Tips: Used for extended life or specific wear conditions.
Optimizing Wear Parts Performance
- Monitor Regularly: Track wear on feed tubes, feed eye rings, trail plates, and tips.
- Adjust Gradually: Change one variable at a time (e.g., tip profile or tungsten grade).
- Investigate Issues: If tip breakage occurs, identify and resolve the cause before switching grades.
Pro Tips for Maximum Efficiency
- Keep Trail Plates in Good Condition: Regularly replace trail plates to ensure optimal tip performance.
- Evaluate Product Output: Continuously monitor crusher output for shape and distribution to ensure high-quality results.
- Make Data-Driven Decisions: Observe wear patterns and rates to fine-tune your rotor and wear part configuration.
