Method

Ratio = max feed ÷ closed side setting = 12 ÷ 1.5 = 8.0 : 1

Cone crushers typically run 3:1 to 6:1, and up to 4:1 to 8:1 depending on chamber, per the Astec/Telsmith Mineral Processing Handbook; jaw crushers are commonly applied up to about 6:1. Higher ratios in one stage mean more fines, higher power draw, and faster wear; consider an additional crushing stage. Planning estimate.
