Zinc, topcoat or lining?
Cold galvanizing carries about 95 percent metallic zinc in the dry film and protects steel sacrificially, the way hot-dip galvanizing does. Use it on welds, cut edges and worn galvanizing per ASTM A780.
Stainless-pigmented topcoats take abrasion, washdown and weather on structural steel and equipment. Linings are engineered systems for immersion and chemical service on tanks, sumps and containment.
Common questions
Cold galvanizing or paint?
Cold galvanizing protects steel galvanically through zinc in the film, so scratches do not creep rust the way they do under ordinary paint. It also meets ASTM A780 for repairing hot-dip galvanizing.
What surface preparation is needed?
Clean bare metal. Hand or power tool cleaning is the minimum for most products here; each product page links the technical data sheet with the exact requirement.
Aerosol, quart or gallon?
Aerosols for welds and touch-ups, quarts for brush work on smaller structures, gallons for spray or roller across frames, hoppers and towers.
What about immersion or chemical service?
The lining systems are engineered products. Send the service chemistry and temperature with your quote request and we confirm the right system.
Coverage, cure and service temperature figures on each page come from the manufacturer datasheet linked there.
